So you can rest assured that we do not collect any data when you use the free VPN. And so we’re able to provide the in-browser VPN for free, and we don’t need to monetize it. We also provide a premium, device-wide VPN service called VPN Pro that we charge money for. We make money through business partnerships and through advertising in our main browsers. You see, the free VPN is not our core product. Are you doing that by monetizing my VPN data?Īctually, no. In all such cases, we inform those authorities that we are not able to share user data because we do not have it. When this happens, they must do so by liaising through Norwegian authorities, who then contact us. Government authorities or law enforcement agencies may reach out to us during the course of investigations, as they reach out to any company. As a result, we are subject to, and have to comply with, some of the strictest data protection regulations in the world. Norway’s data protection authority, Datatilsynet, also oversees data protection in the country. Opera is based in Norway, and Norway has adopted the GDPR. And what if the government makes you give up user data from the VPN? When you use our built-in VPN service, we do not log any information related to your browsing activity and originating network address. Opera’s VPN works in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains exactly what using Opera’s VPN means for your privacy: Which brings us to a very important question: How does Opera’s VPN handle my data? It’s a good idea to go with a well-known and transparent provider for a free safe VPN. This should be considered when looking through free VPN providers as well as paid ones. This means that which VPN provider you choose depends on which one you trust with your data. Generally, the VPN server can see your internet traffic, but a good VPN provider will never log or store this data. Online, security and safety are often used interchangeably, but with VPN providers, safety is more than just how secure your connection to the server is. One, they encrypt traffic between your device and the VPN server so that no one, not even your ISP (internet service provider), can see your online activity.Īnd two, they disguise your IP address and location so that you cannot be identified by this data. Your connection to our secure VPN servers remains private and our no-log policy ensures that your browsing activity is never recorded or logged, making your browsing strictly your own business. In other words, a hacker will not be able to just guess the key and gain access to your browsing data. This is the strongest encryption available in commercial applications today, and it would take a hacker with even the fastest computer more than a billion years to break using brute-force methods. When you enable Opera’s VPN, your browser creates a secure tunnel between you and one of our physical VPN servers, and encrypts your browser traffic with industry-standard 256-bit encryption.Ģ56-bit suggests how long the encryption key is that encrypts the data sent over the VPN connection. The safety and security of Opera’s VPN depend on two major factors: encryption of internet traffic to and from the VPN server and no-logging. But now you are trusting Opera’s VPN instead of the public hotspot, so how do you know if it’s safer to use? How secure is Opera’s VPN? Simply toggle on the VPN badge, and your Opera browser is protected by the VPN – you can surf the web normally without worrying about the security of the Wi-Fi at your favorite coffee shop. So how can you make sure your browsing is safer with Opera’s VPN?įor one thing, you don’t need any extra software, and you don’t need an account. Opera is the first major browser to have a built-in, no-log, unlimited browser VPN that is completely free. A virtual private network (VPN) is a great way to protect yourself online, especially on public hotspots. The Playdate always restarted quickly when these things happened, and save states seemed intact. Some games also had some early bugs: I had a few freeze-up crashes, with Panic promising that updates would be coming to fix them. One baffling thing, though: There's no fishing game! How did a handheld that has a crank… have no fishing game? Sorry, I digress. Another, called b360, is like a mix of Tempest and Breakout, using the crank to rotate your paddle. One, sort of based in the Firewatch universe, called Forrest Byrnes: Up In Smoke, is a quick platforming microgame. Whitewater Wipeout, one of the first two games you'll get, is one of my favorites: simple board-spinning arcade fun. (Some of those games also have multiple save states in case you're sharing with family.) It's great to have some longer-form games, though. Other games, like Casual Birder (an RPG-like game involving snapping photos of birds and talking to people), Spellcorked (a potion-making game with various emails and reviews to sift through) and Sasquatchers (an Advance Wars-like turn-based cryptic-spotting game) have lots of story progression and text, which can be hard to read on the Playdate's small screen. Games like Snak, Hyper Meteor, Crankin's Time Travel Adventure and Battleship Godios continued that quick, addictive arcade-like feel. My kids destroyed my attempt at a high score. Games like Whitewater Wipeout, one of the first two games that pops up on the Playdate, are my favorite: the surfing/arcade game is simple, crank-controlled and addictive. While I had fun playing most of them, they do have an indie, rough-around-the-edges feel. Playing two at a time would have slowed things down and made me appreciate the games more, most likely. Getting two games a day sounds fun, but I started feeling like I was being buried in presents. I feel like I'd be spoiling things by explaining all of them, but I've played parts of all of them already a press preview version of the season accelerated the game reveals from once a week to once a day. While Panic has already announced its game lineup, details on the actual games are scarce. Part of the magic of the Panic Playdate is its gift of two games a week, which literally appear on-screen as cute wrapped packages each time they're beamed in overnight via Wi-Fi. It's a system that fits quick sessions of play.Ĭrankin's Time Travel Adventure, one of my favorite weird Playdate games. I've found that I've gotten days of use before needing a recharge, although I play in fits and spurts. The system goes to sleep instead of turning off, and displays one of three clock displays, so it becomes, literally, a game and watch. The Playdate's display is always on, like E-Ink, but with a much faster refresh rate. It seems to slot right into my sense of what games were back then, and many of the Season 1 games play with classic game design in new ways, blending arcade, RPG and puzzle formats. In my childhood summer camp days, where I'd keep a pile of Game & Watches in my bunk cubby (and later, a Game Boy), the Panic Playdate would have been welcome magic. The D-pad is slightly too creaky for my taste, though. The speaker is sharp! I've only been using the thing for a few weeks, so it's early days, but I'm impressed. The 2.7-inch, 400x240-pixel, black-and-white screen doesn't have backlighting, but it's crisp, and animations look really smooth on it. In fact, it's extremely nicely built: The plastic housing feels solid and satisfying, the crank well-made. Scott Stein/CNETīut, unlike Nintendo Labo, this Playdate is tiny and super portable and isn't made of cardboard. Or the sorts of weird ideas that sometimes come out of Nintendo. The freshness and experimental nature of the games reminds me of indie game jams, or the early days of game development on the iPhone. The lineup includes new games from Keita Takahashi (creator of Katamari Damacy), Zach Gage (maker of SpellTower and Really Bad Chess), and tons of developers and small game studios that are new to me. The games are all new, and all indie efforts. It's a gaming advent calendar in a little yellow box. The games are part of your game library once they've appeared. Instead, buying the system gets you 24 games in a "season" that will pop onto the handheld, two games at a time, once a week for 12 weeks. Panic's concept for how the Playdate works turns the concept of consoles on its head. Panic - a company best known for developing beloved indie games like Firewatch and Untitled Goose Game - never made hardware before, and the $179 Playdate feels like an impossible dream item. The Panic Playdate is the tiniest, quirkiest one of the bunch. Gaming handhelds have made a big comeback lately, with the OLED Nintendo Switch, Valve's Steam Deck, Qualcomm's push into gaming hardware with Razer, and even the Analogue Pocket. It’s a song that shakes off ennui and has you up and dancing before you have any realisation of what’s happening and it is simply impossible to relate such life-affirming music to Wilko’s parlous medical state at the time of recording. Opening with the title track, the energy that floods from the speakers is unmistakable, and there is no question of Wilko’s mindset when Roger introduces himself with the snarled line “ I wanna live, the way I like” over layers of gloriously gutsy guitar, energetic piano and harmonica work that zips through the mix like liquid gold. That Wilko might, in fact, be saved (in the wake of pioneering surgery conducted mere days ago following the discovery that WIlko’s cancer was not as aggressive as first thought), makes this a story worhty of the most sentimental of Hollywood script writers, and we can only hope that the errant musician recovers for the world is surely a brighter place with him in it.įor the time being, however, (and the road to recovery will be a lengthy one) we have ‘Going back home’, record that is vibrant, exciting, full of life and energy and a remarkable testament to the sheer strength of will that Wilko possesses. Diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, rather than face the debilitating misery of chemotherapy, Wilko went out on tour and, as if tearing audiences apart with a vigour more commonly associated with the young was not enough, he also found the time to record ‘Going back home’ with Who singer Roger Daltry. Matching our vast array of essential gig tickets with excellent customer service, Gigantic was named by Nottingham Post as their ‘ Retail Business of the Year 2017’, so you know we are best place to come to make your booking when looking forward to enjoying an unforgettable experience.Different people face mortality in different ways, and there is no knowing how any one person will react to the knowledge that their fate is sealed, but perhaps the most inspirational story of a man faced with a terminal illness is that of Wilko Johnson, the eccentric, wholly untameable guitarist for Dr Feelgood. We really do urge you to make sure you book your Wilko Johnson concert tickets early as they are expected to sell very quickly. The Wilko Johnson Band was formed with ex-Blockhead Norman Watt-Roy on bass and Dylan Howe on drums, adding up to one of the most exciting r'n'b bands in the world today. An album of the year it featured reworkings of songs from Wilko’s Dr Feelgood days such as ‘All Through The City’ and ‘Going Back Home’. Wilko has gone on to find further success recently after teaming up with Roger Daltrey on 2014’s Going Back Home. The original Dr Feelgood guitarist is known for his incredible distinctive chopping guitar style. In 2013, Wilko announced that, thanks to a second opinion and subsequent life-saving surgery, he was cancer-free. But despite the doctors’ worst predictions he continued to perform and present himself with vigour and a new zest for life. ‘I’m supposed to be dead!’ So said Wilko in a recent interview, having been diagnosed in late 2012 with terminal pancreatic cancer. You can place your gig tickets order 24/7 using a tablet, computer or smartphone where ever you are be it relaxing at home or busy and on the go. With the excitement building amongst fans, the demand for Wilko Johnson tickets is constantly growing so you will need to act fast and book yours before they all go. For more information about the Pathfinder's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy test, our all-wheel-drive test vehicle beat its EPA rating and returned 28 mpg. 2023 Nissan Pathfinder Adds Rock Creek PackageĪccording to the EPA, the most efficient Pathfinder is actually the one with optional all-wheel drive, which earned ratings of 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined the front-wheel-drive model earned the same city and combined ratings but only 26 mpg highway.Handling is utterly forgettable and not in the least entertaining, but the Pathfinder's ride is fairly smooth, and Nissan's attention to sound-deadening elements makes the cabin extra quiet when cruising. Those results mean the all-wheel-drive Pathfinder is quicker than the Kia Telluride and the Toyota Highlander. At our test track, our front-wheel-drive Pathfinder SL test vehicle got to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds the model with all-wheel drive managed it in 6.6 seconds. Upgrading to the all-wheel-drive system also adds a set of seven drive modes, including off-road-focused Sand and Mud/Rut model. Front-wheel drive is standard but all trims can be equipped with all-wheel drive. The V-6 makes 284 horsepower in most models but is cranked up to 295 in the Rock Creek trim. While the Pathfinder retains the 3.5-liter V-6 from the previous-generation model, it drops the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) in favor of a new nine-speed automatic. That package also includes all the items needed to unlock the Pathfinder's 6000-pound towing capacity. Adding the SL Premium package for $2900 makes the Pathfinder downright luxurious with 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose stereo system, heated rear seats, and wireless smartphone charging. Stepping up from the SV adds the larger 9.0-inch infotainment system, a 360-degree camera system, and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. A blacked-out exterior is available with the Rock Creek package.Although Nissan is equipping the S and SV Pathfinders with desirable driver-assistance features, we'd recommend going for the more expensive SL trim if it fits your budget. The Platinum also adds a 13-speaker Bose sound system, and a dual-screen entertainment system is available. A panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats are included on the Platinum. It has leather seats, fully heated seats, and navigation. A hands-free liftgate is added to the SL. It comes with a leather steering wheel and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The SV upgrades to alloy wheels on the outside. More USB ports are added on the top trims. Two USB ports are included, including a Type A and Type C. The base sound system is a six-speaker audio system with HD radio and satellite radio. Smartphone pairing is another included amenity. Its integrated technology includes Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Now an eight-inch infotainment system is standard on the Nissan Pathfinder. The S is the base trim, but its long list of features is far from basic. There are four trims for the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder, which are the S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The Nissan Pathfinder also has more than 16 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which is more than most other vehicles in its class provide. Interior space remains a highlight of the Nissan Pathfinder in 2021, which has some of the leading volume in its second and third rows among its class. The updated exterior features a v-shaped front grille and a more slender look. More features are included on all four trims of the Pathfinder this year, starting with a now-standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen on the base trim level. In 2021, the Nissan Pathfinder changes its exterior and its list of interior amenities. What's New For the 2021 Nissan Pathfinder? If you’re looking for a bargain, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro and Ring Video Doorbell 3 are predecessors to two of the current Ring Video Doorbells and are currently still available - although stocks won’t last forever. Finally, Ring’s most affordable option is the Ring Video Doorbell Wired - a hard-wired version of the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd generation). The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd generation) brings a slightly narrower field of view than the Video Doorbell 4, so you won’t be able to see as much of the image from the camera, and the battery is built-in rather than removable - meaning you have to remove the doorbell altogether to charge it. It records in Color Full HD but doesn’t have the 1:1 aspect ratio of the Video Doorbell Pro 2. These are joined by the new Ring Video Doorbell 4, which can be battery operated or mains powered. Ring offers five video doorbells in total the Ring Elite (a professionally-installed wired doorbell that uses Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi) and the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2, which is mains powered and records FullHD video in a 1:1 aspect that’s identical to Arlo’s video doorbells… but doesn’t actually need to be professionally installed. Ring launched as a video doorbell maker, so its range of doorbells is understandably wider than its line of home security cameras. On top of that, the Arlo Go is a Full HD battery-powered security camera that connects to mobile data rather than Wi-Fi - making it good for areas your home network doesn't reach.Īrlo also has two video doorbells that record footage in a resolution of 1536p and a 1:1 aspect ratio so you can see the full length of someone on your doorstep - the only difference between the two is the way they are powered the Arlo Video Doorbell is wired, while the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free uses a rechargeable battery. The Essentials indoor camera is an affordable wired device designed for inside the home and comes with a privacy shutter to offer peace of mind to those that worry their every move is being watched. The Arlo Essential Spotlight and Arlo Essential XL Spotlight are battery-powered (the XL version lasts up to one year between charges compared to the sim months offered by the Essential Spotlight) and can be used indoors or outside. Arlo also offers three cameras in its Essential range, a more affordable range of FullHD cameras that don't require a base station. You're still with us, right? Good, because we're not finished just yet. The Arlo Ultra records in 4K and has the same spotlight as the Arlo Pro 3 and 4, while the Arlo Ultra 2 builds on this with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and an increased range, which should reduce connectivity issues. The Arlo Pro 4 offers all the benefits of the Arlo Pro but doesn't require a base station to connect to Wi-Fi. The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight also acts as a security light to illuminate when motion is detected and record footage. The Arlo Pro 2 records in color Full HD during the day and black-and-white Full HD video at night, while the Arlo Pro 3 has a resolution of 2K and a built-in spotlight for color footage both during the day and at night.
